Hi there,

I was just wondering why there is still no channel for Fibaro on IFTTT.

For the ones who doesn know, IFTTT is a very useful internet based service, for automating everything.

Working very fine, for example if channel is present, thru APIs we could finally set a variable for presence at home, o set a DO button on apple watch for set lights on/off!

Fibaro, do you think it could be on your plans? A lot of home automation producers are already there...

Can you please provide examples what you would like IFTTT to be used for?

Connecting a lot of other applications without the use of LUA. I use it now for the integration between my thermostat and alarm. When my alarm goes on the thermostat goes to an other temperature. Yes, that is also possible when the termostat is supported by Fibaro. I think if Fibaro will add this service there will be a lot of new possiblities with apps and hardware devices that are currently not supported by Fibaro. @Fibaro are you thinking about adding Fibaro as channel in IFTTT. Your main competitors have this already and it's really easy to setup....

Yes come on please Fibaro, the competition is way ahead. Wemo, UBI, Smart Things, Wink, Phillips Hue...are some that are using IFTTT Channels.

I agree with "remcoploeg" it would open Fibaro to non supported devices such as Amazon Echo for one...if just for the simplicity of creating If ..THEN functions outside of the controller.

@Fibaro, can you please give us an answer if this is the heading?

We won't be integrating that solution in any of the soonest versions, but we will surely look into it once our current goals are reached. We are aware of that channel and all its pros and cons but we have to sort out other things first before opening up to such integrations.

Thanks j.nowacki - not the answer I wanted but as an owner of a software development company I understand one cannot do everything. Is there not a Fibaro "Roadmap" anywhere?

Not an official Channel from Fibaro, but the best solution so far.

And what are the current goals then?

Is the IFTTT your goal already? It would make things much easier!

As elev8john mention, it would be nice if Fibaro can publish some kind of roadmap int the forum, for us to see what's in the pipeline for the next couple of releases.

We as readers will off course have to be aware, that a roadmap is a quite loose document of information, but it will give us some kind of idea about what is moving.

Hi

followed your steps to do a simple call to the ifttt channel:

"HWS = Net.FHttp("maker.ifttt.com")

HWSReponse = HWS:GET("/trigger/{event}/with/key/{Userkey}")"

Any idea how to make to get the response as a status for the button?, if a 200 then debug.fibaro... sorry very new fibaro and lua

Thanks

You shouldn't even bother to post that TOTALY UNSECURE and VERY DANGEROUS way to control Fibaro with IFTTT!

Are you really willing to open door to your home centre and start sending your user and password data openly over the internet even if this user is allowed only to flush the smart toilet?

The other way around, Fibaro sends the command to Wemo, a couple of switches I have, nothing too dangerous

Hey,

I spent hours already trying to figure this out with no luck, I can not trigger device eather scene. Can you please give me some advice. I need it only on local network so I am not using dyndns... I have the http:// comand which works when trigered by browser but not by ifttt.

Is there anything that need to be different? I tried even the non admin login details as admin is now email, but still no luck.

I am trying to control things with alexa, so local network should be enough.

Edit:

and this is the address i am sending:

http://test:[email protected]/api/callAction?deviceID=644&name=turnOn

test and testtest are login and password, i tried even different. Device is enabled for this user. And in browser it can be trigered no problem

Yes, maker, I tried with what you said and no luck. Do you have a port open? Are you using DynDNS account or just loccal address?
