Hello All,

Since few weeks now (maybe even months) I am having issues setting angle using FGRM-221 modules, be it with the web interface or iPhone app.

Is there anything I can do to try fixing this beside re-association (they are hidden in the roof and that would be a bad news if that's the only way).

Does it even work ? I feel like I am having issues with these modules since the beginning:

- When moving the cursor, the angle doesn't reflect the position

- It's not staying at the position I'm setting but instead going to 0 or 100 percent even though the lamellas have a different angle

Thank you

Does that model do positioning? I thought it was only the 222

Well when I bought them, they were advertised as supporting orientation (venetian blinds) and I do have the option in the dropdown list.

During months it worked as expected but after some update (can't recall) it started acting weird.

I just checked and the box sees them as "FGRM222 EU".

Maybe an issue with calibration and parameters?

The 222 does support positioning. I would suggest recalibration to see if that can fix it. It will open and close to calibrate and should be fine after that. Also check in your settings to make sure you have positioning selected

But now I'm wondering how possible that is that they really are 222 - I bought them back in November 2013 and reference was FGRM-221.

I'm 100% sure I was able to set positioning and it kind of work anyway. It's just the slider that doesn't remain in position (or doesn't read it from the device ?)

I'll try to recalibrate one of them and check if parameters are OK.

FGRM221 also supports positioning, but it does not report power used. Give reconfiguration a try.

Well that was somewhat easy ...

I had to set blind position reports sent to main controller using "Fibar Command Class" instead of "Z-Wave".

No clue why it changed suddenly or if it used to work just with "Z-Wave" but it's fixed apparently!

    Thanks

That is interesting. Can anybody explain to me the difference between fibar command class and z wave?

Well the protocol. No clue about the details though.

Regarding protocol: Advanced Configuration Page of the device...

    From the manual:

    Parameter 3. Reports type

0 – Blind position reports sent to the main controller using Z-Wave

    Command Class.

1 - Blind position reports sent to the main controller using Fibar

    Command Class.

Parameters value should be set to 1 if the module operates in Venetian Blind mode.

ok - thanks. That I read as well, but was not sure if it is only valid for venitian blinds or if it does something else to blinds in general....

Has anybody tried that with normal blinds and did it do anything different?

Will try myself once at home again.
