Door sensor keeps showing empty battery

Good day all,

I have just replaced an empty battery on 1 of my fibaro door sensors, but the thing keeps showing empty battery.

Besides that I get this nifty email informing me the battery is empty every half hour.

Is there any way I can reset this battery life cycle for the door sensor?

Thanks

Arno

It should show battery level if you triple click the button inside, while pressing the battery firmly. This is to make sure the tamper switch on the bottom is pressed against the door. If this doesn't work after 5 attempts, it's possible you have accidentally reset the device and it then lost communication with your HC2. In that case it's exclude (or delete if exclude doesn't work)/include.

    Thanks for the response Peter,

Actually I discovered a somewhat funny workaround.

If you replace the battery while the door is closed, it does not update the battery status in the HC2.

If you do the battery while the door is open, it does update the battery status.
I am still on 3.590, so maybe this is already fixed in 4.xx.

Clever observation! It is indeed recommended to replace the battery with the door open. With the door closed, it is possible to trigger a reset. The reset procedure is in the manual. You can see how opening and closing the door could make that happen. Anyway, glad it's solved!

I had same issue with batteries that were apparently new.  Voltage could be regular but maybe amper is poor.

Buy a fresh new battery or try to reset and re-connect

Same issue here every time I replace a battery it is like that.. this annoys me… and the support of Fibaro.. always same response.. reset this do that and nothing helps.

yesterday did a soft reconfig, which says that it won’t touch the settings nor ID. The sensor disappeared and was re-added with a new ID. 😡

as a consequence I had to adapt 3 alarm scripts and Home Assistance.
ow and also one sensor just disppappeard.. 🤯
