Volume slider IR blaster

Question

Posted

Hi,

I use SQ blaster to control the volume on my receiver.

i have a VD with 2 buttons for volume up and down.

my receiver has 40 volume steps

is it possible to make a slider for this, so if i go for example from 20% slider to 70% slider it sends 20 IR pulses to my receiver?

You would need to store previous state of that slider somewhere or use two sliders: one to represent current state and 2nd to set desired value. So after activation of 2nd slider it would count the difference, send desired number of pulses and set 1st slider to current position. This is not an ideal solution, but it is always hard to synchronize states when controlling something with IR, since there is no feedback.

So what's the best way to achieve this solution ?

RS232 ?

I'm currently using GC Wifi to IR in a similar set up two individual buttons for volume but would highly rather a slider like I'm sonos uses
