How big and complex a system do you dare to build since backup is not possible??

Just realized that when my HC dies, and I buy a new one, everything is gone

It is not possible to make a backup that can be transferred to a new HC.

I have started to make screen dumps of scenes and configurations, since this is the only way to remember how they are setup.

So my question here is: How big and complex a system do you dare to build since backup is not possible??

In case of failure it is possible to send both new and damaged controller back to our service desk, so the backup can be transferred.

Ok, that helps, but still not optimal.

Do Fibaro have any plans regarding a smarter backup system?

that is not easy to do

buy a new one and sent both to polen

there must be a smarter way of doing this

you can get most configs out of the HC2 via the API, so if there's a scripting guru.....

    cheers

A presumably high-end system like HC2 ought to have a possibility to save EVERYTHING (full config, scenes, devices, etc). Sending 'anything' to Poland seems very old-fashion (read something like 1990).

Come on Fibaro, you could do better...

hint: pause all 'new' functionality and secure a stable and working version + add full backup option (includes moving between different HC2s) without the need of sending 'anything' physical around the globe.

I simply can't belive that fibaro is develope new versions ect. but can't do a simple backup.

Full working backup is a "must have". How can anyone develope a system with tons of setup and parameters without a backup system. It is one of the most basic features, but it is missing.

Forget everything and put the backup feature on top of the "to do list'.

it will not happen... 3 years 'ish and no further forward other than informative backup window and fancier gui... personally i do not think they can do it!
