NTP server specified, but HC2 time does not update it

Question

Posted

My HC2 has been up for 18 days, yes 18!! Whohooo. And it is still running. (98% ram full, 2% free and 12% cached). But the time is incorrect. 7 minutes slow. So 18 days ago it was set correctly using the NTP server I specified, but 18 days later it is 7 minutes behind. Why isn't HC2 using the NTP server to correct the time? Can I use a Lua script to update the time according to the specified NTP server, or should I use Lua to restart the HC2 every night?

Anyone any thoughts?

Thanks

I am using NTP for almost a year now and recent firmwares of HC2 should be working fine. Mine does not exhibit this issue anymore though it did with one or two of earlier 4.03x firmware.

I vividly remember it was shared that the NTP sync only runs upon boot up.

Running 4.055 beta or 4.056? If so, check the Configuration | Location | 'Set Date and Time' option is configure to 'Download time from the Internet'. Never know if upgrading firmware may result in incorrect conversion/updating of parameters. I encountered a LUA script that got altered during upgrade from 4.054 to 4.055 beta and suddenly no longer runs due to error. Found out somehow part of the script's "--" got altered to some weird longer dash character and cause script to fail with error.
