Roof window actuator FAKRO ZC230 - position reporting

Question

Posted

Is there anybody who managed to make HC2 to talk to the roof window actuators FAKRO ZC230 in the way that they report the current position ?

The actuators are recognized by HC2 as window blinds. They do not react to the intermediate state of the slider.

They are 100 % open if the slider is to the maximum right, or closed if the slider is to the maximum left.

If I stop the actuator while it is moving - then it stays in the intermediate position.

If FAKRO weather module closes windows (rain detector) - HC2 does not recognize windows were shut down. It shows that windows are all the time opened.

Just shooting an idea here: i think it has to do with calibration. In order for HC2 to see the intermediate state of the blind it will need to know the open and closed positions through some sort of calibration. Don't know if that is possible with the fakro actuators.

I only use the fakro rain sensor connected to a UBS

What you mean "some sort of calibration" ?

Pls give some more hint on this .

We have ZWS230 devices and they simply do not seem to offer any calibration - there is no sign of it in Z-wave communication, motor does not report its position whatsoever. I do not know the case for this very device you are testing, but I suspect it can be the same.

I have been trying to get my 10+ electric windows to function with the fibaro roller shutter module since the day I started prototyping the Fibaro system. It has never worked.

It seems that either you get a motor that works out the box and if it doesn't you just need to calibrate the motor, or you simply are stuffed, like me.

I have spent days/weeks trying different things, but I still live in a house where the window status seems to be a random event. Sometimes they are closed but report as open and vice-versa and window positioning never functions.

On the other hand I have a somfy blind that worked first time and reports acceptable (not perfect) positioning every time. Go figure.

Fibaro, if you are listening, may I remind you that since about 18 months ago you promised me that this functionality would work. Will you ever fix it? I am specifically referring to Bugzilla
