I'm wondering if its possible to have multiple smoke sensors trigger/sound an alarm if 1 sensor detects smoke? Connect them in a series of sort.

Cause say you connect one in the basement and you are upstairs, and the alarm in the basement goes of i would like all smoke sensors in the house to sound the alarm.

Is this possible?

I see a paramater 13, Alarm Broadcast. But not sure how this work or if this is related to what i need?

This is not possible, simply because of the way battery devices operates in Z-Wave - they are asleep and do not listen to frames that can trigger them. Use siren for that purpose.

Hi. Same question. Tried to make a scene with a siren. It is not working. Also tried to make a association to group no 1 to the siren. Not working. What is parameter no 13 for. Tried to change it but not possible to save. Is my scene wrong or what is wrong?

What siren do you mean? What is the exact version of Smoke Sensor?

It is an Aeon Labs DSD31 ZW080-C15 Siren and FGSS001 Smoke Sensor EU ver. 2.5. Running on HCL 4.054

Make sure both, or neither of devices are included in secure mode, and remember that associated devices must be in each others direct range.

Neither is included in secure mode. They are 20cm apart from each other. Is it correct to make the Association to Group 1? So no scene is needed? What is parameter 13 for?

Posted

You should assign your siren to 1st group of smoke sensor. Parameter 13 is for sending given alarms (smoke or tamper) in broadcat mode - so every device in a range will be able to hear it.

Have you woken up sensor with 3 clicks after saving new association groups?

It is impossible to save the setting for parameter 13. I tripple click a lot but it will not save.  But is it possible to set the smoke sensor so if one sensor makes an alarm the rest of the senosors also makes the alarm. PS. Finally the Association Works.

Follow simple rule when saving parameters to battery devices: change parameter, click save, tripple click B button, wait a while (until debug in window on the top of page shows that parameter report came in) refresh a page and see the new parameter.

But is it possible to set the smoke sensor so if one sensor makes an alarm the rest of the senosors also makes the alarm. I have tried now to change the parameter 13 to smoke alarm broadcast active and made an Association to the other smoke detector.

Hi. Can it work in serie?

I figured out it can not
