I am trying to install a dimmer 2 in a wall box where a led lamp is plugged in. (I am aware of the risks when plugging in other devices then the acutal lamp

This lamp has 48 leds on the adapter the output voltage is 24V.
After instelling this dimmer and plugging in the lamp the auto calibration starts, but ends up in a red led.
The lamp itself is on but on a very low strenght. No response on increasing the dimming percentage, nor switching on or off.

When I plug-in another lamp it works perfectly, so installation should be ok.

The manual hints about low power consumption in case when red led is ulluminated.

Do I need to install a bypass or do I need to adjust any parameters ?

geritz81,

Is this load dimmable? We really do not recommend You to install dimmer 2 in a wall outlet, while dimmer is not designed for this and it could lead to destroying your module when You or somebody else decides to connect there a vacuum cleaner by mistake

What kind of led are the modules and the adapter? I assume You connected everything in 3 wire mode. I guess, the load is 48*0.02ma*24V = 23W ?

But RED light can be caused by the adapter. What module is it?

Attached the information of the lamp.

The module is the new dimmer2 FGD-212 in 3 wire connection.

If you are a bit of a DIYer then this may be an interesting experiment. Add an incandescent lamp in series with the dimmer and the power supply. It would be best to have one in the range of 100 to 500 Watt. If you get better results with this setup, I'd conclude that your power supply is not compatible with dimmer 2. The bulb acts as an extra resistor and reduces current spikes.
