I've bought two Fibaro Dimmer 2's and one double momentary switch.

Because of less space in the wand outlet, both dimmers are build in in the ceiling outlets based on scheme 'two wire connection double switch'.

The momentary switch is connected to the first dimmer, which is connected to lamp 1 (via S1).

I want to associate the second dimmer with signal S2 of the first dimmer. I've tried to configure as described in the manual, but lamp 2 will not light up or dim anyway.

I would like to receive the exact configuration settings, detailed on endpoint and group level, so both Lamps will turn on/off and dim via one double momentary switch.

Thanks in advance.

I can't make that work either. Not Between 2 x FGD212. It works from FGD212 to FGD211 (or even a relay switch). I'll investigate tonight.

Peter thanks! When you do find a solution or workaround, please write it in this blog and I will test it too.

The groups that you should set in the first Dimmer is 4 group (basic association) and 5 group (dimming association) Please try to set both of them

Thanks for the group info... From the manual I would have guessed group 5 would suffice. Anyway...

Schematic and switch look fine to me.

At the moment, I'm stuck. I've tried a 1000 things and I have this odd conclusion. I have 2 x FGD212 on my HC2. I can control one of them by using an association from other devices (e.g. Zwave.me WALLC-S or a FGD211 aka Dimmer 1) to it. That's not odd, but I can't make it work with my other dimmer! And I don't see why... The annoying thin is, this device is in an enclosure and doesn't have buttons. So I can use it as a target (but it doesn't work), but not as a source (maybe that could work, but it doesn't have buttons). Tomorrow I'l add buttons and possible also give it a nice exclude/include... "To Be Continued"

Peter has got a little bit older version Dimmer 2.

Jrvb, it should work for you

    Hello Noname,

How do you know Peter has an older version? is it because you are me reseller

I've exactly the same issue as Peter has.

Fortunately I have an old Dimmer 1 and will try association with it.

Hope the problem will be solved soon.

Sorry for the confusion! He knows my firmware because we have been in touch before! My version is 3.0 and yours is probably 3.2. Due to this difference in firmware I cannot separate your issue from "wrinkles" in that older firmware. So please forget what I said. Sorry!

I think it's interesting to do some tests with dimmer 1 indeed...

I tried to reproduce it with Dimmer 2 v3.2. I assigned 2nd Dimmer 2 to 5 association group of 1st Dimmer 2, like that:

    And it works flawlessly.

    EDIT:
I also checked in multichannel association in case you need s2 from 2nd Dimmer and it works as well.

Maybe Dimmers are not in direct range? Association frames are not routed.

    Sorry, doesn't work

My first Dimmer 2's name is 'zithoek'.

My second Dimmer 2's name is 'eethoek'.

'zithoek' is connected to a double momentary switch, manual scheme: double switch, 2 wire connection.

    Q:

Is is correct that I have to switch between them by connect Sx with S1 and Sx with S2?

Lamp 1 is connected to 'zithoek'.

Lamp 2 is connected to 'eethoek'.

    Wish:

want to light up/dim Lamp 1 by signal S1 on 'zithoek'

and light up/dim Lamp 2 by signal S2 on 'zithoek'

    Both have version 3.2.

'Eethoek' has in its settings: Endpoint 0 (group 1-3), Endpoint 1 (group 1-3).

'Zithoek' has in its settings: Endpoint 0 (group 1-5), Endpoint 1 (group 1-3).

Strange because they are exactly the same??

    Q:

Do I have to make all the settings in 'zithoek' (because it's like a master), is it correct?

    Posted

You need to fill in 5th group of Endpoint 0 on 'zithoek' with 'eethoek' - preferably with multichannel association. But you should have 5 groups in endpoint 0 of both devices, please make soft reconfiguration of the one having 3 groups.

Are they close to each other?

    What's the best way for a re-configuration?

In my testlab, both dimmers are near to eachother.

    Posted

Just choose soft reconfiguration in advanced configuration of device.

    Dear reppliers !

It works! Great ! Thanks for your support.

    Hi,

I migrated from 3.6 to 4.056 last week.

For lights, my installation was mainly with fgd 211 and wallplugs.

All associations worked after the migration.

I bought some fgd 212 (V3.2) to replace fgd 211 (for LEDS) but associating them is almost impossible

    - I managed to associate one fgd 212 to control another fgd 212 using channel S but after one hour it was not working anymore...

    - I didn't succeed associating a fgd 211 with a 212 in V4.056 (but I was able to do it in V3.6)

    - I managed to associate a 212 with a 211 but it worked only minutes then didn't respond anuymore...

    - I can associate a 211 with a other 211 or wallplug without any problem and it works flawlessly. if I add to the table a 212, it stops working

I've searched some hours without success (soft reconfiguration, single channel, multichannel, group5, group4, power on/off device, reboot hc2)

My zwave network is fast, if I send a command from my mobile to a dimmer, it's instant to fgd 211, fgd 211 to wallplug associations are very fast.

Trough the fgd 212 dimmer push button, lights turn on instantly, but trough the mobile app however, after some time off, the first try to turn on doesn't work, if I keep trying, the light finally turn on and then the dimmer accepts next orders quite fast...

Looks like it's definitively an FGD 212 problem

It looks like it's a problem with the firmware and the management of z-Wave orders.

Do you have an idea please ?

Are my FGD 212 defectives ?

    Thanks

@j.nowacki, what do you mean with :

"please make soft reconfiguration of the one having 3 groups." ???

they both have 5 groups ???

    Thanks

I was responding to @jrvb post, his Dimmer 2 had only 3 association groups in Endpoint 0.

As for your problems: pleas tell me exactly which wall switch is activated and how each assocciation group is set. Also make sure associated devices are in each other's direct range.

    Hi j.nowacki,

    Thanks for trying to help

The devices are in direct range (some are 10cm away in the same wall box, others are 5 meters in plain sight, controller is in the room

It doesn't work, even with the dimmers not back in place, outside the box), so I can definitively exclude range problems.

Before V4 migration I associated an fgd 211 with my first fgd 212 for testing and it was working perfectly, remote dimming, double click, on/off... it continued to work after migration but thing became crazy after adding other 212.

Here are different configurations tested and some comments.
