Hi,

I have got several Dimmer 2 modules installed connected to 7W LED bulbs. There are 6 bulbs in each circuit. No bypass.

On the circuits that have 1 momentary switch connected to them they work fine.

On the circuits with more than 1 momentary switch connected to them the bulbs turn off after 1 second.

I've tried changing all of the configuration parameters as suggested in other threads but nothing fixes it.

Do Fibaro have any suggestions?

The Dimmer 2's replaced Dimmer 1's and I had no issues with the Dimmer 1 units (in the same circuits).

Thanks.

Hi, first thing to try is disconnecting anything you have hooked up to Sx, S1 and S2. See if Dimmer works fine then. But no matter result you should contact support and let them know how it went.

    Hi,

When I disconnect everything from Sx, S1 and S2 it works fine.

Additionally when I swap S1 and S2 around using parameter #29 it works fine (however I cannot control the load locally)....

I have contacted support but they haven't got back to me yet.

So this problem is one of the ones mentioned here:

Please login or register to see this link.

I have two dimmer 2 installed.

Both have at least to momentary switches connected. At the first one I could get it working only with putting an extra relais between the timmer and the switches (I guess it is because of of the switches is misusing Sx for something else too).

At the other dimmer this helped (most of the time, not always!!!):

    p 6 (time of a dimming step) set to 3, 4 or 5 or 6
    p 34 (soft start) set to 2 (0.5 sec)
    p 23 (double click) set to 0 = disable

@alex - those configuration parameters help a bit in my situation too, but it still fails (turns off after 1 second) about one time in every 5 activations.

Can Fibaro give an update on whether there is a fault in the Dimmer 2 units?

Do I need to take them all out and return them?

@reading123, for now we are investigating possible reasons of such behaviour. Please let support know about your issues (do not forget to mention situation after disconnecting switches) and follow agent's advice. He will inform you about warranty procedure if that becomes necessary.

@j.nowacki - I've sent the support team a link to this thread. I haven't heard anything back yet...

For the issue I (and others, it seems) am seeing here with the Dimmer 2 would the not-yet-released Bypass 2 help?

Bypass would eliminate light flickering, spontaneous restarts etc. If disconnecting switches did the job I suspect there is some other interference present.

    @j.nowacki, thanks for this.

How come it works fine using the Dimmer 1, and is only a problem in Dimmer 2?

I've got 5-6 circuits in my house where this is a problem so it would be great to understand how to fix the issue...

@j.nowacki - if it helps I can confirm that exactly the same thing happens regardless of whether the load is LED, halogen or incandescent bulbs.

It *only* happens when I have more than 1 momentary switch connected to S1, and the problem doesn't happen when I set parameter #29 to 1 (swap S1 and S2). Obviously when I set #29 to 1 local control of the load is not possible, so that's not really a solution.
