hi all,

For months there were no problems with my fibaro smoke sensor. The last couple of weeks it starts beeping and breaching randomly, one or two times a day alarming there's a fire, but there's not.

There were multiple questions on this problem here, anyone got the solution (yet)?

I'm running 4.056 on HC2.

Obviously this is an emotional problem, more to the wife than me, but basically the smoke sensor is useless this way.

cheers

emiel,

I had the same with one of my first smoke sensors. Only thing (but i think you already did it) delete the smoke sensor, new battery (like you did)  and ad the smoke sensor again as new device.

If the beeping is still going, send it back to your manufacturer as warranty.

I did this get a new one and now the problems of beeping are gone.. And if you could replace them with the new Z-wave 2 version.

Write also some post on this forum of the beeping.

The smoke sensors work good (if not broken of beeping

All 5 of ours beeped... Returns % is very high then!

that's a lot yes, still if you got 1 or 10 I would send them back or all back and let them replace by new one's, at least try the exchange procedure one time under your warranty and test the new recieved smoke sensors.

I admit that the feeling of good smoke sensors are gone then with that amount. of failure. But with all electric devices with failure you send things back for repair or replacement.

For me it helped with one and I got good smoke sensors.

maybe they did have a new revision but failed to let users know of a recall? because i would never trust them based on my initial experience... NEVER worked properly from day one! all 5 of them!

thanks for the info, guys. I'll try ex- and include it once more with a new battery.

ps. I also have a Nest protect, but when it detects smoke, Google sends me an email with an ad for fire extinguisher

Looks like I'll be sending mine back then. Mine beeped, so then I was advised on this forum to adjust parameter 80 which worked. However after 2 weeks of silence, its now beeps between four and six times about every one or two hours.

I've excluded and re-included it. Mine is DC powered, no battery.
