Disable dimming funktion on FGD221

Hey,

i want to use the FGD221 to switch a lamp.

 

The Lamp ist not dimmable in the moment, but perhaps i want to use the funktion in future.

 

So is it possible to use the FGD221 without the dimming funktion or is there a perameter to disable it?

There is no FGD221. Only FGD-211 and FGD-212. Do you have the manual? It can be downloaded from the Fibaro main site. For Dimmer 1, look under parameter 13. I'll sum it up for you: param 12 = 99, param 13 = 98, param 10 = 0. Dimmer 2 uses a calibration mechanism and it will detect a non-dimmable load in 99% of all cases. For those 1% that it doesn't, similar (but different) parameters exist.

Typing error. Its FGD 211.

The setting of the parameters is logical for me.

But what do you mean by Dimmer 1 and Dimmer 2?

FGD-211 = Dimmer 1 = old dimmer

FGD-212 = Dimmer 2 = new dimmer (redesigned for all kinds of load, especially LED)

OK, but the operation manual of FGD-211 says:

As the Dimmer it operates under the following loads:

-conventional incadenscent

-halogen 230V

-low voltage halogen 12V-

-dimmable LED

Oh, it's a riddle! I get it! It's because I said : "Dimmer 2 (...) especially LED".

The FGD-211 is a leading edge dimmer.

The FGD-212 can do leading and trailing edge dimming. That's one of the new things. There is more... Z-Wave Plus, better protection, different connector, etc. But dimmer 1 can do LED that are dimmable with leading edge... Dimmer 2 "auto configure" will test the load and select the correct settings for you. No need to worry about "leading" or "trailing".
