If I add a temp sensor  DS18B20 to the window sensor.

Do I correctly understand that I cannot use both at the same time?

Either temperature or windows sensor.

Either temperature or windows sensor.

Both work at the same time. You could, however, question if the device is in the right spot to measure both temperature and open/close at the same time. I mean, if you mount it on a window or a door, temperature will deviate somewhat from other places in the room (can be several degrees). That depends on many factors like insulation of the window (door), convection, sunlight, radiators underneath, and so on. A possible solution is soldering some wires to the sensor. Please make sure you understand the connection of the three wires, getting that wrong will destroy the temperature sensor. After you've added it, make sure to exclude & include the device so the HC2 recognizes the temp probe.

Thanks, I have considered the place for measuring, but since I want to use it in a non isolated storage it would be perfect to check the door and temp.
