Variables in Home Center Lite Scenes

Question

Posted

Is there any way of using variables as values in scenes in HCL?

Consider the following scenario:

Please login or register to see this attachment.

It checks if it is sunset and if the specific lights are not already on. If so, it turns the lights on and dim them to 80%.

Now, what I really want to do is to have a variable for the 80%. It is not feasible for me to change this value in a lot of different scripts. One single variable would be so much more convenient. Is that possible in some way?

What I really want to do is to turn the light on at dusk, not sunset and then turn the dimmer to a variable setting. Since dusk (sunset ± civil twilight) is when it gets dark. So I would love to be able to use that instead of sunset really. Or be able to use a variable here too. But since civil twilight changes during the year that is a bit of a challenge...
