Hello

I want to test HC2 and i do have working Homseer with fibaro modules and i wonder if there is any way to add some devices to HC2 without dismounting the switch and resetting it?

Do you have the manuals of the devices? Some will say that you can use something like S1 triple click. But you have to look it up, I don't have a summary available...

    OK i did it

In homeseer you need to exclude node by going to plugin zwave management putting it to exclude and clicking 3 times the switch and than just add it to HC2

Oh, so it was a HomeSeer problem? Thank's for the info! Happy Testing!

No no it was not homeseer problem basically the module can be only in 1 z-wave network so it have to be removed from whatever network it was before. Anyway it is easy doable. And you do not need to dismount the switches. So this is good.

I see! I really, really, really did not think of that! No, a primary controller has a unique home ID and "including a module" means linking the module with that home ID. Maybe this might interest you too: *any* controller can exclude a device. Imagine your controller dies and you buy a new one. Now you can't exclude modules from the old controller... So you might conclude that you need to reset the modules. That works, but there is an easier way: put the new controller in exclusion mode and do the "inclusion click sequence" on the module. It will reset and be ready for inclusion again.

Oh thanks that is easier way. so i do not need to exclude it in Homeseer just do exclude in HC and add it again. This is faster. I will try it.

Not sure. Exclusion from the primary controller "unlinks" the device from the controller and also removes the device's objects from the controller. Excluding from the primary controller gives you a clean slate. If you use a different controller, the device remains visible on primary controller. That controller will mark it "dead" after some time. If your primary is a HC2 or HCL, you can delete the dead device (use the "X" mark). In fact, you have to delete the object, because you won't be able to link back your physical device with this object on the controller. After this, ID's change so you will have to edit scenes. I am not familiar with HS, but I think it has a way to "replace a dead node". If so, it might be possible to put everything back in place, avoiding the problem of having to change the IDs. But I really don't know.
