[HCL] Turn power off after Motion detector is safe for one hour - how to do?

Question

Posted

Hello,

I want to cut power off using wall plug when motion sensor doesn't detect movement for one hour. If motion is detected during this one hour, time must reset and another hour should start.

All using Home Center Lite, so unfortunately no LUE scripting.

Can anybody help me with this?

Its possible with simple block scene. Use movement sensor as a triggering device in corresponding state (e.g. safe, or safe and armed...) and add the time in seconds in red box within the sensor parameters (60*60= 3600s). Than the action required (in your case turn off the plug).

Well, this will not work as expected. I want to power off after one hour without breaching motion sensor. I tried this first time.

When motion sensor detects no movement and trigger scene after going "safe", clock will start counting this one hour. But if after 15 minutes motion sensor report breached and again safe .. time to power off plug will be not reset to one hour.

Scene you suggest will be like - "one hour after going safe"

I want - "one hour without breach"

Strange, it works for me. I have the following setup:

If sensor is disarmed and safe for 10hours, than send notification to admin (to turn the alarm on).

And it works exactly as you need. Im not geting any notifications while at home or during the night, only when we leave the home for longer than 10hours.

    Try a little test

    Set time to 20 minutes.

Walk in front of sensor, wait 10 minutes and walk again. Tell me when will notification arrive? After 30 and 40 minutes from start? Or just after 40?

Tested and it works exactly as I described. Countdown starts from the moment the sensor is safe and stops as soon as it change its condition (breached) and starts from 0 again when its safe. I used one minute delay. When the sensor was safe, after 60 secs I received email. As soon as I breached the sensor during this period, countdown restarted from the next moment sensor was safe, and first notification came after 60 seconds from the last safe time.

    See attachment of my scene.
