HC2 - no internet connection

can anybody help?

 

my router is ok, internet connection ok.

but my HC2 can't reach the internet, the LED with the globe is off.

 

I think I could not reach it from outside.

 

what can I do or what have I to do now? (is it a feature, an error, ..)

Do you have DHCP setting enabled on your ethernet settings in HC2? If yes, make restart to HC2 and look, if this helps.

    Thanks for your answer,

     

    I have a Static IP (for access via VPN),

    it worked fine till this morning ...

     

    now I tried a Restart: again only two LEDs (globe off)

    and no access from "outside" my LAN (via VPN) possible

     

    what else can I do?

    Shot in the dark: try another DNS server, like 8.8.8.8. Did you block some outgoing connections/protocols? The HC pings some addresses, you can find them here (yeah, I am really too lazy too look them up) if you want to. It also connects to servers in Poland to enable remote access. If something is not working, LED 3 stays off.

    You've mentioned that you use a static IP (because you want VPN). But what if you put it back to DHCP? Does the third LED come on? Does the app work over mobile data?

    DHCP: no change

    in addition remote access YES: no change

     

    I am not sure what means 'app' and 'mobile data':

    With my android tablet I reach the web interfaces of my heating equipment, printer, telephone system, ...

    as usual!

     

    Only HC2 doesn't work ...

    With "app" I mean the mobile phone app for Android or iPhone. And with "mobile data" I mean "edge, 3G, 4G" on your phone, not wifi. Your "app" should work in that case. If it doesn't, then your outgoing connection (from HC2 to servers in Poland) is not OK. Yes, check with support but also check the firewall on your internet router.
