Hi everybody,

I am new to this community and after starting my Fibaro Z-Wave SmartHome, I have the following problem:
I live in a three-story-house that I want to make "smart", step after step.

Right now, I have a HC2 (placed on the middle floor), eight smoke sensors spread throughout the house and a couple of roller shutters, wall plugs and other relays, all from Fibaro. I tried to place the fixed relays in a way that supports a good Z-Wave coverage throughout the house. Additionally, I have one Aeon Ranger Extender placed on the floor above the HC 2.

Including and operating all these Modules works just fine.

BUT:

Several of the smoke sensors send a single beep every couple of hours, which ist very annoying.

Other than that, the sensors seem to work just fine.

Testing the range gives me a steady green light on some of the smoke sensors, but a wildly blinking in different colours on some of the others. Range from the HC2 doesn't really seem to make a change here, since I have two sensors next to each other for testing, and one would randomly beep, the other one won't.

What adds in strangely is that all smoke sensors send temperature information to the HC2, so it seems they are all in good range.

I triggered a manual reconfiguration of the entire Z-Wave network in my house, but that didn't solve the problem.

Can you please help me on this?

Try one of the not working sensors in the place and instead of a working one. Does the fault persist? Then you know if it is a coverage or a sensor problem.

Are you 100% sure you are performing a range and not a malfunction test? Try both (see manual) and report the result. Note that range problems and malfunction lead to intermittent alarms.

Are the beeps really random or are they periodical? Note that the period for both alarm types can be configured. That might make testing simpler (and more annoying ).
