Question

Posted

Hi

I have bought a magnetic contact (www.coopercsa.it/it/prodotti/componenti-sistemi-antifurto/contatti-magnetici-vista/contatto-magnetico-grande-distanza-ip ) and I'm trying to connect it to Fibaro universal binary sensor to know if my external gate is open or not. I connected the 2 wires to IN1 of UBS and to GND of the 12V power supply that powers also the UBS, but nothing happens.. Am i missing something?

Thanks

Riccardo

That's the correct type of device (potential free contact) and the wires indeed should go to IN1 and GND. What happens if you short IN1 to GND (without contact)? Does the status on the web interface change from "open" to "closed"? When you move the magnet, does the web interface change? Did you check parameter 3, "Type of input no. 1"? Do you have a multimeter?

Thanks!! Good catch - I had changed parameter 3 to "toggle" when integrating the soil mosture sensor and hadn't noticed it was still like that. Changed back to default and it works perfectly

    Thanks!
