I've set up my Smoke sensor to be my temperature gauge in my room and this is controlling two electric heaters each on a 2.5Kw relay switch. I've created them as linked devices and have them on a heating panel with a schedule. All this is fine, except the temperature sensor is not reacting to temperature changes.

I've set the Temperature device to: 'Device will be polled at periodic intervals' and set it to 125s but its not reporting temperature changes unless I manually poll the device.

I thoughts I'd done the difficult bit of this. What am I missing?

Hope you can help.

Thanks,

Roland

Is this a wired or battery powered device? I'm not sure you actually can poll a battery device. It will wake up when it will.

Its powered not battery. I reset the device to ensure it knows its from DC power.

    Check those advanced parameters:

    10. Temperature report interval.
Time interval between consecutive temperature reports.
The parameter is relevant for the battery powering mode only. Longer time interval
means less frequent communication and thus a longer battery life.
Report is sent when new temperatue value is different from the one previously
reported. Temperature reports can be also sent as a result of polling.
    Available settings:
    1 – 17280, 0
     (multiply by 5 seconds) [5s-24h]
    0 – reports inactive
    Default setting:
    0 (Reports inactive)

    12. Temperature report hysteresis.
The temperature report will only be sent if there is a difference in temperature value
from the previous value reported, defined in this parameter (hysteresis).
Temperature reports can be also sent as a result of polling.
    Available settings:
     0 – 100 (in 0,1 C steps)
0 – temperature change reporting inactive
    Default setting:
    20 (2 C)

    Thanks, I just checked.

Parameter 10 was set to 0, so I just set it to 120s.

Parameter 12 was set to 2 degrees so changed it to 1 degree.

Lets see what happens today, it starts it automatic cycle in our hour!

It works. So it seems even if the item is on wired power that you have to set Parameter 10 so that it reports temperature.

    Many thanks for your help!
