stupid question about the two types of relay switches

Question

Posted

Hi,

i recently bought and installed one of the Fibaro 2x1,5kW relay switches into one of our light wall-switches. the switch controls two independent light sources, so it made sense to me to buy the 2x1,5kW relay.

now i wanted to install another relay switch into another light wall-switch, but this one only controls one light source. thats why i bought one of the 1x2,5kw relay switches.

but before installing it i checked the Youtube installation video and noticed that they install it into a power socket and not a light switch. did i buy the wrong kind of relay for what i'm trying to do?

or can i install the 1x2,5kW into a light switch, too?

thanks in advance!

best regards

Max
