using the pop siren gen 3 also on gateway devices

Question

Posted

Hi hope someone can help,

Currently installing whole home Fibaro system for a client. i have had to use two HCLs as gateways to cover whole house.

Problem lies with the alarm system, i am using a pop siren which has been associated with the main controller (HC2), works fine on all window, doors sensors and motion sensors which are associated with the main controller but wont sound on the other alarm devices which are on the gateways. All these devices are already linked to the main controller and push and email notifications work fine but the siren just wont trigger.

I sound and disarm siren with two scenes atm.

Any help in would be very much appreciated!

Thanks

Kyle

Your saying any scenes on main controller do not trigger gateway devices? If so I am having exactly the same issue with danfoss set points on my HCL gateways. Yet if I create a scene local on the HCL they work.

Basically in alarm panel i have added a new action called "siren on" this is a simple block scene that will switch siren on from a off position if alarm is triggered. When alarm is triggered from devices associated on main controller (HC2) the siren will sound but if alarm triggered from devices on gateways then the siren just doesnt trigger.

Do you see the device status change eg breached on main controller or only on gateways?

Just checked and no they are not appearing on the alarm panel of the HC2. i think you are onto the problem here. How can i incude them in the main controllers panel?

    Thanks

i can however arm/disarm gateway devices through the main controller and also get the push notifications and email sent.

i just can't figure this one out.

    Anyone?

I need alarm devices in the gateways to show up on the main HC2's alarm panel so it can also trigger the siren, is there any other way i can make this work?

    Thanks

The siren is bothering me also.

The very basic way I found to make the siren start is to create a magic scene, adding the Alarm icon, setting it to the value 'tripped', then as an action I added the siren icon, then selected "turn on". This generate a scene that starts the siren when the alarm is triggered. You should also add a second scene to do the opposite, putting if alarm -> "all disarm" then siren -> "turn off". That's extremely basic, but it works. You can also add the scene to the alarm panel by choosing add actions, but frankly I don't see how this is improving things.

I'm absolutely not happy about this because it's way too simple, you cannot do any multiple actions. I was trying to find a way to create a block scene to do the same, but oddly enough, I can't find a way in the block scene to trigger the scene as a consequence of the alarm state!!! You can do it in the magic scene, you can do it in the LUA i assume, but not in the block scene... does anyone knows how to do it? I don't want to go to LUA to do such a basic thing like making the siren sound!!!
