Everything, except power rating. What do you want to do with it?

I want to connect it to LED (5m) and second one to 4  x 40 W lights.

I have posibility to buy for very low price model 211 but I dont know what is the difference.

I dont want to regret if I buy model 211.

any idea what the difference is between bypass 1 and bypass 2? i have 211's everywhere in the house... i really don;t mind upgrading but don't want to swap out bypass aswell!

@power-trip-forum because the new dimmer does trailing & leading edge dimming (old one does only one of them) you need a different bypass. Generally speaking, from experience, Dimmer 2 doesn't need a bypass as often as dimmer 1. I agree it's a nuisance, but I don't technically they could have done that otherwise. So Dimmer 1 = Bypass 1 and Dimmer 2 = Bypass 2 only.

Maybe reading the manuals can help you decide between the two models. You can download them from

BTW is that LED strip a 230 V and is it dimmable? If it's 12 or 24 V, is the power supply / LED driver dimmable? If you want LED strip, did you consider 12 - 24 V and RGBW controller?

I'm really curious: what did you decide to buy and why?

    I haven`t decided yet.

211 - max. 500W, no information about multiple DC connected to one Dimmer.

212 only 200 VA (electronic DC).

Bypasses are available for both models.

I didn`t find any information what is the difference between them.

I have 5 halogens (5x100W) 12V, DC is dimmable but I want to try find some LED 10-15W instead of 5x100W and here is a problem.

The 211 were on sales ban in Sweden and cant be bought any longer.

The 212 is really sensitive with its inputs, i got multiple problems with them coused by interfearence from other dimmers/swithes.

    I saw special DC,

I have GLP GPV 100W 12V but I saw in the shop moedel GPVP - with something like protection against this interferences I guess.

Google found this, is that the one?

Unfortunately, my phone doesn't want to open the data sheet. But judging from the web site, this is a supply for a RGBW module, not a dimmer.

I mention about it to tell you that it is possible to be DC with reduced effect of interferences.

Don't understand. English is not my native language. What module would you connect the DC supply to? And what would interfere with what? And this interference would be solved by th DC supply? How?

Wait, are you talking about the sensitivity of certain versions of FGD212? Older versions might have problems when having longer connections on S1 and other wires running in parallel. This cannot be solved by adding DC to S1. You can add a relay (but a 230 V relay is as big as a module) close to S1.
