How to create a switch (as virtual device?) with 3 positions

Question

Posted

I have a global variable, which has the position 0, 1 and 2.

I would like to create a switch in my HC2, which acts like a device.

So I can easily set the value to 0, 1 or 2.

Can I make such a switch? How do I proceed? do I need to make a virtual device?

Is there nobody who could help? or is my description too vague...

I would like to create my own switch/device to set a global variable which can hold 3 values (0, 1 and 2). The switch is much user friendly as this global variable can be expressed in the device list (e.g. as a virtual device).

I have no real experience in creating virtual devices and I believe this should be the approach.

if somebody can help me, this would be great.

    thx.

    Hi,

Ok, so 3 buttons. 0,1 and 2. Pushing a button reflects the same change to to a global variable?

    - Create pre defined global variable called "SwitchButton" with value 0,1,2

    - Create a virtual device wo any IP or port

    - Add 3 buttons.

    - Under each button you write "fibaro:setGlobal('SwitchButton', '0-2'" (Change the last for each button).

    Test.
