Complicated Scene with only graphic scene blocks

Question

Posted

I would like to know how I can accomplish the following, using only graphic scene blocks. I have several devices, lets say a cooler and a coffee machine. Now, I want the the following to happen:

The cooler is allowed to only be turned between 10:00 and 16:00. The coffee machine is allowed to only work between 12:00 and 13:00. Both time schedules are only allowed to run if the room is occupied. If the room is not occupied, both machines should not be turned on.

So, I created several variable scenes:

1: A scene that changes the variable "cooler allowed on" to true, which does that every day at 10:00 (and turn of at 16:00)

2. A scene that changes the variable "coffee allowed on" to true, which does that every day at 12:00 (and turn of at 13:00)

3: A scene that changes the variable "room occupied" to true, when scene is manually run.

As soon as it gets 10:00, the variable cooler allowed is true. The coffee variable is turned to true at 12:00. That all works fine. Now, when I set the room to occupied at 12:30, it should turn on both machines. But, when I set the room to occupied at 09:00, the cooler should also be turned on as soon as it is 10:00...

Your scene #1 and #2 can add in to check variable 'occupied' is true or false, in addition to the existing time check.

I think you can also use the interval based option in the graphic block scene and keep the interval as ' 0 minutes'. It seems to work perfectly fine for me.

    Do you mean:

A scene that starts the cooler every day at 10:00 (and turn of at 16:00) but only when the occupied variable is true?

Where would I be doing that and why
