SRT321 and SSR303 - is there a definitive guide ?

Question

Posted

Hi

I have posted a new topic despite finding many similar topics as I am unable to find one which works.

I have the HC2, the SRT321 Thermostat and the SSR303 receiver/ boiler controller

I have successfully paired the 2 - no problem

But it kind of negates the HC2 being in place, and pretty much replicates what I had before, ie a thermostat controlling the heating.

I am able to include the SRT321 to the HC2 with no problem - if I turn the dial I can see the temo change within HC2

I am finding it virtually impossible to include the SSR303 to the HC2.

I have read almost every topic on this, from Vesternet pages, domotique etc - and everyone of them has subtle differences. I have yet to find a definitive guide for Fibaro kit.

I suspect that the SSR303 is not able to associate with the HC2 as it believes it is associated with the SRT321.

At some point in the past I definitely had both devices associated with the HC2 - but then that disappeared - I have no idea why - though I am sure its me.

I think I need to reset both devices and start from scratch

various links suggest pressing L, pressing I, not pressing I but pressing L, try pressing P - then n - then wait for nP

I used to consider myself fairly switched on but not any more (a bit like my heating)

Does anyone have any experience of doing this successfully ?

Thanks

si

I've only gone and got it working haven't I

I am very pleased with myself

who'd have thought the manufacturer manual might be some use

    In a nutshell

below is manual for the SRT321

Please login or register to see this link.

some key extracts from the manual below

Turn the rotating dial on the front within configuration mode and select the desired function by pushing the dial once:

    • I Include Node onto network

    • E Exclude Node from network

    • N Transmit Node Information Frame (NIF)

    • L Learn Mode - use this command for Include or Exclude with another controller (does not support control group replication) Inclusion and reception of a primary role (Controller Shift)

    • Li Receive Period Enabled (Listening). This function will keep the unit awake for 60sec, no Pass or Fail response will be provided

    • P Protocol Reset - Press twice to activate Will restore all parameters back to factory default settings

    • A Associate Control Unit

    • D Disassociate Control Unit

    • C (Primary Shift) This function allows the installer to manually relinquish the primary controller role of the SRT321 to become a secondary or inclusion controller

so - armed with this - I proceeded to experiment. I wanted to start from complete scratch - I had to have something I could recreate the next time it failed.

(SRT321) Dip switch 1 to on

I excluded the node from the network (E) - this finally go the SSR back to been (seemingly) back to fresh status. This had been very elusive to me.

HC2 had all previous attempts cleared - no SRT or SSR in there at all

    I then reset the SRT321 (P twice)

so - starting from complete scratch

Select "add device" on HC2 - press network button on SSR303 - it was included - I was very happy. I can control the SSR303 from the HC2 (on/off) - brilliant - I had a small drink of beer

Then - on the SRT321 - I selected "L" (as per the vesternet instructions) - and selected "add device" on the HC2 - it was included ! - I was even happier. another small sip.

Now I was on a roll and wasn't really sure how to associate the 2. However - and this is just my experience I was able to then select "A" on the SRT321 (press it - it flashes) - then press the network button on the SSR303. The SRT321 "A" changed to "Ap" - suggesting something had happened

I am now able to control the SSR303 from the HC2. And from the SRT321. - which I think is exactly what I want.

I am now going to try and get the heating to come on in the morning and set some temps through the day

    I shall report back

    Hi,

    thank you for the explanation.

if I want to change the temperature remotely through the Android application, nothing happens. how to enable temperature change over the phone or PC .

Changing to SRT321 also changes the temperature on HC2 application, communication takes place from SRT321 to HC2. I can not change the temperature from HC2 to SRT321. HC Lite temperature change does not respond to SRT321

SRT321 >>>> to HClite or fibaro app respond OK
HC lite or fibaro app >>>>>> not respond NOT.OK

    How to setup?

    Thanks

if I change the temperature over the phone, I noticed that the temperature changes over a couple of hours, and not at the moment of change...
