Is there a way to downgrade system without reconfiguring whole system after?

There is no downgrade, only recovery which brings back to the version your HC2/HCL was shipped with, then upgradeable to last v3 version (3.600 for HC2), then next leap will be to 4.070, no way to leap into versions before 4.070.

There's a way, but I guess you'll be doing it on your own risk.

  1. Download the firmware of your choice from:
    • HCL:

Please login or register to see this link.

    • HC2:

Please login or register to see this link.

  2. Go to recovery mode (press and hold + button and then press power button one time), an option to specify a file displays.
  3. Once the downgrade is finished, clear the cache of your browser (and remember - do not use IE)

Edit: Just realized that you wrote without re-configuring, sorry!

Good to know there is an undocumented way to 'slice' in between through manual means. Learn something new today.

Notice the HCL firmware does not contain a checksum file, does that means whenever HCL update firmware, it does not perform a sanity check of the firmware downloaded?

Hi Henrik, do you know a way to factory restore without the pluss button?, my HC2 is missing the add device button, and restore is not working. Support is not the most responsive lot of people.

Even better, any idea why add device, AND missing restore function is not working?

When I use the pluss button while restart/power off, all the blue leds stay lit

OK!, solved it myself, sort of embarrassing, I was NOT admin user, RTFM!

Sorry for all the hassle.

Hello all,

I am stuck in recovery mode with my HCL on 4.160.

I have tried repair, restore and exit recovery, but each time the unit reboots I am back in recovery mode.

I would like to try to downgrade my firmware but the above links do not work anymore, does anyone have an alternative link or a local version they could send me?

Many thanks

Thank you Henrik - I had not worked that the URL needed to be completed.

I have now downgraded to 4.150 but still am unable to exit recovery mode :(

I will create a new forum post to seek some further help, thanks!

Roger
