Motion and dimmer, dynamic value?

Hello everybody,

 

I wan't to create a scene with the following conditions for my kitchen lamp wich is controlled by a fibaro dimmer.

 

- If the lamp is switched of, the scene to control the light is inactive.

- If the lamp is switched on, return it to the previous dim level.

 

- If the lamp is on and there's no motion for 10 min set dim level to 10.

- If motion detected return the light to the latest dim-level

 

 

I have made a simpler version with blocks but the way I created the scene it won't let me alter the dim level since the values are fixed. I probably can solv this with global variables of some sort but I'd like a push in the right direction.

Hi Fredrik,

 

I have similar scenes in use for my kitchen and corridor, once I'm home I'll collect the scene details and share them with you (.. I'm using mainly LUA scenes as they run more accurate and stable).

 

Background information on what I have in use:

• All my lights at home (in general) will only be active between sunset and sunrise -> this is the timer trigger chosen within HC2
• Lights in my kitchen and corridor will only be active when there's motion detected. In my corridor lights will go off once there's no motion for 20 seconds, in my kitchen they go off once there is no motion for 30 seconds.
• After sunset till 22:30hrs these lights go on once motion is detected, but now only at dim level 60 (.. this is more convenient to my eyes) and after 22:30hrs till 06:00hrs they go on at dim level 20 (.. again, this is convenient for my eyes and can be different for you).
• From 06:00hrs till sunrise, lights go on at dim level 60 again until sunrise (.. and when it is sunrise, then all lights that are on will automatically go off and stay off until it is sunset again.

All scenes work together with some Global Variables I've set.

 

In my situation I also have my curtains mapped to these scenes plus the system will turn on different lights depending on whether I'm present at home or not. This way I always will have my curtains closed and a light on, so people would think there's someone at home

I'm using the HC2 gateway and I have to say that I'm really satisfied with the product and features that it can bring (.. yes, I also experienced the software challenges of earlier OS versions that were quite a pain, but at the same time I'd like to give compliments to the Fibaro team because this is the first and only system so far being capable to deliver this kind of experience.

Attached is a quick and dirty powerpoint which shows you how I've set up the scenes and Global Variables in my system. I hope it will be of good help to you.
 
The only thing I did not list in here are the different time windows I have set for the PIR sensors to switch from breached back to safe state (.. which are 20 seconds for my corridor and 30 seconds for my kitchen). These settings you adjust per individual PIR sensor in the settings menu of the PIR.
