Variables - is it ok to have same name across scenes?

Question

Posted

Hi,

Just want to improve my understanding on LUA scripting and HC2 scenes.

  • Is it ok to have variables defined with same name across different scenes?
  • Is it necessary to define as 'local' variable in each scene using the same variable name?

Yes, you can have variables with the same exact name within different scenes.

No, you don't need to define as local but it helps a lot with code review.

Thanks for the link and sharing of knowledge. I think I now have a better understanding of variables in LUA.

Still trying to catch up from the decades-old programming knowledge to modern ones. LOL
