GPS location of users defined in HC2

Question

Posted

Need some help on the concept behind GPS location of users that you can define in HC2.

I can't figure out how the system is supposed to match the mobile devices with the users.

My current experience is that the location is properly fetched for admin user, but not for the others. I believe this is because all the mobile devices are associated with the admin user.

Secondly I have three mobile devices (my iphone, my wife's iphone and my ipad) all setup to receive push notifications from HC2. Now from which of these location is being pulled and associated with the admin user? Any ways to identify that?

I have today decided to add the wife as a separate GPS location to switch our heating on and off!

BUT!

I have stumbled across the same bug as you! Time to create a ticket or search for pre-existing ticket!

Admin account works fine for me... but wife as separate account return no value to the api.

So your wife has different account at HC2 and how frequently GPS position is tracking defined also at her account?

Do you use scene with LUA code to trigger actions accroding to GPS loaction?

By the way from my experience the location tracking is a little bit unreliable and doesn't work all time.

In any case here an example of LUA code  - turning light on or off  according to user's location (500 meters)

Please login or register to see this code.

Please replace adminID and youWifeID with real ID  (to find out the user ID in the system use
