complex case of Fibaro dimmer FGD-212 wiring

Question

Hi!

I've been wiring Fibaro sensors a while now, but there is still one case I don't know how to connect.
I have a dimmer module (Fibaro FGD-212) with a pushbutton which is not in the same location.
At the moment this pushbutton is connected to the LIVE wire:

Is it possible to connect this and if yes, how? Is the Sx connection needed, to where?

Maybe I can rewire the pushbutton to picture A2 in att:

Not between N and S1, but between L and S1, but it's not guaranteed to work. It's worth trying. I recommend to follow the diagrams in the manual whenever possible...

    petergebruers, so you mean the switch _could_ work as in the first picture in my original post? what about the Sx connection?

    The first diagram is "correct" if you do not connect Sx. BTW if it doesn't work then there are two possible explanations. The first one is because you didn't use Sx. The second one is discussed in this (very long) topic:

    I've found you don't need to connect Sx as long as the cable run to the fixture isn't too long and you don't have multiple momentary push buttons. Perhaps it's cable crosstalk throwing a wrench in the works in these cases, or something else... The thread referenced by petergebruers above has plenty of discussion on possible root causes there...

     

    I have a number of 212s running perfectly fine without Sx connected. In other cases I've had to resort to using relays driven by multiple momentary switches and loop the relay into Sx-S1 to make it work reliably (both for manual and controller operation)

    I agree with Peter, the diagrams are excellent and accurate .. I have used both momentary and 2-way retroactive and combinations of both. Configured correctly they all work very well.
