Sunset sunrise wrong

Question

Hi,

I am new to HC2, and just trying to get the basics setup.

I have it set to the correct location in Setup (Australia/Melbourne), and the clock is showing the correct time.

I am wanting to set some scenes to only run at night, but based on the icons on the main web interface and on my Android controller, the sunrise / sunset times look to be an hour out.

So, current sunset time in my location is 8.15pm daylight savings time, yet the HC2 changes to night at 9.15pm.  Similarly in the morning it changes to daytime one hour later than it should.

Any suggestions as to how I can get it correct?  I thought it might be getting the daylight saving messed up, but then it should change one hour earlier I think.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,

I have a similar issue where sunset is not accurate enough.

if yours is an hour out either side, you could put -1 or +1 for a quick fix ?

not sure why mine is out either.

    Thanks gordz.

I thought about trying that, but it is hardly ideal.

However, the only way I can see of achieving that is to select a location in a different time zone, which might screw up Geo location.

Hi, did you use the coördinaties from Google Maps?  latitude and logitude, this must be very accurate.

    Thanks Labtec,

Yep, latitude and longitude entered under 'Configuration' - 'Location' have been taken from Google maps and are correct.

The time zone setting is 'Australia/Melbourne'.

But I expect the latitude and longitude determine sunrise and sunset, and they are correct.

    Hello,

To make sure one receive correct data, please do the following:

    1. Set date and time to be downloaded from the Internet

    2. Set your location manually (city, state/province - anything that can indicate your city properly - be aware that there may be more than one city named the same)

    3. Choose correct time zone - we are aware that our list contain many to choose from, but please choose the one that is more than less correct (you can choose a city nearby and check what time zone it is in)

    4. Manually put your longitude and latitude.

Try doing the aforementioned and let me know if it helped.

HC2 is getting the right sunrise / sunset times now.  The main problem was I had the wrong latitude (36 instead of -36) in my Location settings.  So thanks for your help.

Same problem with me. None of your suggestions helps. GPS and timezone are correct. However, Amsterdam like most part of Europe shouldn't be +2 but +1.

I get the impression that summertime setting might be the cause. For displayed time is correct, but sunset hour is one hour too late.

I corrected some scenes by code, but it shouldn't be like that.

Having this problem now, previously has been working well. Maybe after some update broke this.

Triggering at 20:14, by location sunset should be 22:44. Times correct, timezones correct, location correct, gps coordinates correct.
