Hi,

I am facing a wiring problem and I need help to solve it.

I have some lights connected to 2 switches like in the image.  Unfortunately the only place I can install a relay is in the switch 1. Switch 2 box is full of cables.

I also have a neutral wire in switch 1 to power the fibaro module.

But I just can not figure out how to connect the relay and still keep both switches functionality.

Can it be done ?

Regards

Tough! A few questions...

- Would it be possible to pull an extra wire (between the switches)? Or is it too difficult?

- Would it be an idea to replace the switches with monostable versions?

- Would you accept this as an alternative: use a "wall controller" that has no depth and can be glued to the wall instead of S2? Then you could disconnect S2 and use one of the wires to "shuttle the relay output to the lamp". For example:

Unfortunatelly none of the suggested versions is an option

What i could do as an extreme is keep the functionality of switch 2 only, but stil the relay would have to be placed in switch 1 box - but i'd like to avoid this extreme...

I faced the same issue, but was able to place the relay module in the central wire box in the ceiling underneath the lamp. Maybe this can be an option.

Here's another one: put a FGD-212 and a "bypass 2" (a 2-wire setup) in or near the light fixture. Use a relay at switch 1, only to detect switch on/off (just leave "O" and "IN" unconnected). Dimmer 2 cannot fully switch on the load in a 2-wire setup (it would shut down it's own power supply). Use scenes to "glue" them together.

After 3 hours of work i managed to pull 1 more wire from switch 2 to the junction box in the ceiling where the wires from switch 1 were coming also.  Pulled all cables out from the juction box and barely squeezed the relay in there.  It works and both switches retained their functionality

I have 1 more tough case with 3 switches situated like 15-20 meters apart... next weekend maybe..

    Thanks all for suggestions
