Foscam 9826P howto enable in Fibaro HC2

Hi All,

 

I am wondering if and how anyone got's the foscam 9826P to work in Fibaro HC2?

 

Followed many links with suggestions to put the secondary stream of the foscam in stream mode 1 or 2

Ss a bit of a crap semi solution I used the JPG string cgi-bin/CGIProxy.fcgi?cmd=snapPicture2&usr=whatsmyname&pwd=verysecret

 

This gives an image in the ios app, but only when connected to the same wifi network as the foscam camera is (or with VPN connectivity from outside the house, but this is not great). 

 

My concerns and hope for some advise:

1.  Does anyone got streaming video from the foscam 9826P into the fibaro app (IOS & Chrome) and how? (firmware, settings, etc).

2.  Is it possible to get video and streaming video from outside the wifi network with the IOS app?

 

What alternative cameras are available for this purpose with native and good fibaro support (and motion, nightvision somewhat the same features as the foscam 9826P camera).

 

The foscam app does work on IOS and I got good results, only the fibaro integration doesn't work.

I had some problems adding a Foscam FI9853EP. After struggling, resetting, trying this tutorial multiple times, I found out that the problem was because the complex password i used was not working. To test this i created a new user in the Foscam camera with a basic password (e.g. password1). This did the trick, the camera is added succesfully. Now the camera is working on the iphone app, and the screenshot is displayed on the mainpage. There is no video displayed when the camera is opened on the HC2 page, but this is not an issue for me.

Hi,

Yes, FI9826P can work with FIBARO.

You will need to upgrade the camera to latest firmware.

And follow the steps set the sub stream to mjpeg.

As for getting the video fromm outside the home WiFi, one thing you can try is

input the DDNS:port in the IP address column, instead of putting the local IP for the camera.

For that you will also need to port forward the port for the camera.

As for alternative camera, you can try DLink DCS-5222L which has a plugin in HC,

But for the camera compare to 9826, the resolution is slightly less and no optical zoom,

But he viewing angle is wider.
