How to back up and restore individual scenes?

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of linking my Hue bulbs to HC2 via the plugin. As the bulbs can't be used in graphical scenes, I'll be converting all the relevant scenes to LUA. Before I do that, I'd love to back up my scenes, however. Is that possible somehow? I know how to make a complete backup, that's not the problem, but in case I mess up the LUA stuff and would like to return to my former (working) scenes, being able to restore them individually from a previous backup would be fantastic.

If you decide to use virtual device (VD) for controlling HUE lamps instead of plugin then you don't have to change your scenes because then they can be controlled with block scenes also.

How to make VD for HUE lamps you can find here:

I used that solution but modified it and added button to VD for turning ON/OFF HUE lamps. All my scenes are in LUA, but block scenes can also control them. My plan is to add support for scenes and then will publish here. Advantage of this solution is that one VD can control more than one HUE lamp at the same time. For example if you have two HUE lamps on kitchen ceiling light and you want them to work together (synchronized) then it is possible.
