Session variables between scenes?

Question

Posted

Hi,

Is there any way to pass a variable to another scene when calling it with LUA?

I could do this by using global variables but I want something more dynamic and only valid for current session. I would not want a global variable to be overwritten by other instances of the same scene.

Regards

Stian

nope, is the short answer.

i think you can create global variables on the fly so you could do something fancy by creating a unique variable per scene and then deleting them at the end of the scene.

not sure if that will do what you need.

Thanks but no, that would not help as I had hoped to use the same scene to trigger for several devices and that scene would start other scenes. The variable should only be visible per session so I could make a lot of reusable components.

Including other code / scenes would be another solution but I have not seen that so far.

There is a tricky way to store json table as a Global Variable.

In this case you can play around with many json table variables
