Where to start for a new developer?

Hi, I want to write some software for my HC2. However, I need some pointers on where to start. For instance, I played around a bit with a virtual device, and I see there is some inline documentation for e.g. how to update a label. But then I wonder how to simulate a button press. Where should I find the documentation for that?

 

Also, I would like to know more about how the relations between the main loop and buttons in a VD work. Can they share variables, or interact with each other?

 

I also find it a bit hard to test code when there is no build output or similar. for the buttons Are there more powerful tools to work with, than editing directly in the web interface?

 

Finally, I previously read a bit about plugin creation, but it stopped when I saw that I couldn't upload a plugin to my HC2 if I made one. Does something need to be unlocked, or what is the plan behind this?

Yes, that is a helpful resource, but I would like an introduction to the concepts. Has Fibaro written this? I've found a good tutorial (in Swedish) at

I'm looking for a start-up also. I've seen developer.fibaro.com etc. but it's not enough to get started and I'm not succeeding in getting Virtual devices to run as I would like to.

Also I tried all possible functions on FGHC rest API documentation but it seems that the 'Devices PUT' functionallity on these pages is not working. (Seems to act like a GET function).

I want to change some values in a Virtual device but it doesn't work.

 

Does anyone know how to send a PUT to HCL to change a "name" ?
