How to install a Fibaro Swipe under the table?

Question

Posted

I have a customer who likes the idea of Swipe's under tables, counters, desks and behind walls.  The problem is that there appears to be no bracket or clip available to do this with.  I don't really want to wedge them in place with timber as this just doesn't look right in area's where they can be seen.

Just wondering if anyone here has come across a suitable bracket/clip.

Thank you in advance.

I tool a small plastic bracket and cut a groove out of it. I used one on each side of the swipe (without the case).#

Mounting it wasn't really the issue - I could get it to respond reliably. I have it under about 15 mm timber.

There has been a lot of discussions re the USB power supply and I haven't gone back to it yet  to see if this makes a difference. I also used the foam from the box to pad/provide an air gap between the raw plate and the surface. My initial tests 'seem' to indicate this made a difference but I'm really not sure

(Don't mind the make of the bracket, it was just a pic I pulled off the internet to highlight what I did)

There doesn't appear to be any purpose made brackets for wall mount or under/behind surface mount.  It's a shame that these aren't available as the device itself appears to be a very good addition to the Fibaro range.

Thanks Frank.  I'll look into making a bracket for this too.  Once sorted I'll post back here if successful.

What issues have been raised regarding the usb power supply?

the psu seem to interfere with the registration of the gestures and the device beeps quite a lot.

The iphone power supply's seem to be the worst. some other ones seem to be better...

there is another swipe thread that has some good info....
