Light keep switching off

Question

Posted

Hi, I'm having a relay switch (FGS211 Switch 3kW EU) that switches 3 outside lamps and in the last few days I suddenly can't turn my lights on. They just blink momentarily and immediately switch off again. Sometimes, when pressing the pulse button 3 times, the lights stay on for 15-20 seconds and than switch off. Mysterious, no idea what I did to cause this.

I'm running Fibaro 4.080 on HC2. The problem also occurs from the Fibaro user interface, as well when I am pressing the pulse button.

I've tried adjusting several parameters, but nothing makes a difference. Still no clue what it causing this. And theres no changes to the system that I'm aware off,

Has anybody experienced this and maybe got the golden answer to my mystery?

Thanks

Hi,

I'm a beginner at this but it could be for several reasons:

- Check your loads- it could be overloading and thus switching off

- The settings could be set to a momentary switch and not a toggle switch

As basic as this is, I hope it helps.

Cheers

maybe reset your switch and give it a new try from scratch

Out of curiosity, are these lamps LED spots, no-brand (aka "made in China" but everything is made in China, so I don't want to insult anyone here)? What's their specification?

Thanks for your suggestions. I walked through all of them.

Settings is on momentary switch, since I have a pulse button. It's not overloading, it used to work before, no changes. Lights are Philips LEDs. I have others around my house that still work fine on Fibaro, as did these before. I have removed Fibaro module and re-added.

Still same problem. More help please.

After you removed it (you mean... deleted aka excluded it), did it work as expected?

I'm trying "Occam's razor", meaning "Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected."

    - You have an electrical problem on that circuit.

    - You have a defective relay.

    I would suggest as following.

    1. Disconnect the load (lamps) and check if still Fibaro module is switching off immediately after some time

    2. take the Fibaro module out from location and make temporary connection direct to power source than check the operation of module

Based on it you can see where the problem is:

    - if in item 1 module is working same - means that lights are not creating problem

    - if after item 2 you get same story means problem is with parameters (you can remove device and connect it back) or could be that module is broken

Hope so it will help you to find the reason.
