Hello Every one

I'm a bit lost with the z-wave network

Does the association is used in order to increase my zwave signal ?

like in order to connect to module c go thought module b ? From what I understood, I would say yes if you click on the multi channel ?

I've got 3 wall plug I wanted to use as repeater. But I've got some association issue.

Am I right ?

Or the best is to click on "Mesh network reconfiguration" and redo the all network ?

Thanks

Hi pixys,

not totally sure about the nature of your problem: do you have connection probems?

Any plugged device acts as a repeater within the mesh network (for up to 4? hops) otherwise you can swap the Fibaro-delivered antenna for a more powerful one (which I did - no range problems since)

Cheers

In my flat, I've got the HC2 in one room, next to it, I've got a lift (which is blocking signal due to the metal). Next to the room, I've plugged a wallplug (I will call b).

in order to have the signal going out of the room and go to the other rooms. But I've got one wall plug (I will call it c) which goes to "dead" mode, That I've got to wake up something.

I did association thinking this would increase my signal linking b and c. but c is loosing my association (I do not know why).

I'm not sure my network is "Mesh" and I would like to use it that way. the 2 wall plug are maximum 5 meter of distance.

    WP = Wall plug

    Left one is c

    Right one is b

    bottom one is d

As you can see this is my problem. (see the little draw)

    Hi pixsys,

no, associations don't improve range or mesh network; they simply create a "direct" connection between e.g. a sensor and an actor, bypassing the the gateway (the HC2).

BTW: Here's the link to the antenna mentioned (and a required adaptor):

if possible , put  the hc2 in center of floor/house/flat.

i would put the hc2 in the room on the opposite side of the elevator. (close to the room where WP d is)

Then start adding socketed zwave modules, first the ones closest to hc2 then spreading out.

Last step is add battery operated devices.

That way you wil certainly have a mesh network.

if all that fails you can allways get a bigger antenna, but its prob not needed.
