The connector is SMA female. I bought a GSM antena (>800 MHz) and installed on my HCL (was not easy to find with the right connector). Working very well.

I do use this antenna (plus the adaptor) with very good range extending results:

This one is too long for where the HC2 is placed. +9dBi seems quite overkill. I suspect the default is +2dBi but cannot confirm it so thought someone in forum may know.

You mean the connector on the antenna has to be SMA-Female?

If so, indeed it is not easy to find. Most are SMA-Male.

Yes. Must be female on antena. I just ordered one with male and a connector with both sides female. I think it's called smc / sma

Weird. I checked the HC2 I have and the antenna has a SMA-male connector.

sh.t! . the HCL has female and HC2 has male! I wonder what kind of kids can be the result ....

I must admit that I did not check the HC2. And I was fighting for such a long time to find the right antenna....

I have not check a HCL as I need to travel to another site to check it out physically.

If it is indeed HC2 having SMA-Male and HCL having SMA-Female, that is definitely a nut case of product development and unnecessary production/logistic overhead cost.

99% sure my hc2 and my HCL are identical connectors! I've swapped the antennas before on both using the same 3rd party antenna
