Question

Hi guys,

this morning I was waked up by a FGS221 Switch 2x1,5kW EU that start to cyclically change it's state (every 1 second)

Due to the fact that this device is connected to a Siren, the first thing in my mind was to cut the power of that device in order to silence the alarm.

The second consideration was : it was not triggered by alarm panel , becouse alarm panel don't do the same thing. Alarm Panel use the FGS221 Switch 2x1,5kW EU as a normal switch and turn on that switch permanently (until you disarm system)

The third consideration was : seems that this FGS221 Switch 2x1,5kW EU have received an alarm frame. Becouse it is setted to respod to "General Alarm Frame" ciclycally change it's state.

The question is : how to investigate this ?

Alarm panel confirm me that there was not a PIR movement detected.

But how to understand if the device have received an alarm frame ?

And what is the correct action to stop a device if it have received an alarm frame (i don't think that is correct to cut off the power ..... maybe zwave alliance have thinked to a more elegant solution).

Hope that someone can help me !!!

Hi!

yes it was alarm frame that caused such behaviour. HC2 do not participate in such communication and it could be any device who gave such alarm.

This is Z-Wave basic - always remove such alarm frame behaviour from parameters on the devices which you will never want to turn on/off in case of alarm. Example - garage door etc.
