I already succeeded to integrate the ITach WF2IR module with Fibaro system.

But, I am now looking forward to doing the same thing with the ITach WF2SL (Wifi to Serial Communication)

I have several questions here:

1) Is it possible to integrate it with Fibaro ?

2) With the WF2IR module I controlled any IR device like AC or TV. I was wondering what can i control with the WF2SL module ?

If anyone can state some applications that can be done with this module ?

3) With the WF2IR module the programming part was sending the IR codes of the devices to be controlled through the Fibaro virtual     device. What about the Wifi to Serial Communication ? How is it going to be programmed to be able to control the devices through Fibaro system.

I am talking about this device.

Thank You.

Control a unit that has a serial connection and no IR connection

If you will make some code in LUA, you can control Paradox security system.

Some TVs is better control with RS-232 than IR.

Now GC has a RS-485, but it is for iTach Flex not WF2SL i think, so you can control Recuperation units with that.

I think Onkyo respond faster if you have connected it with RS-232. In our showroom we have our DRX-3 connected with IP and RS-232, to show our customers we know both ways how to control it.

With RS-232 you will have feedback of the command you send, so far more reliable compare to IR (in my opinion).

    How to deal with feedback?

This is an example to control a TV with RS-232 (power on):

You know if you have an error and if the feedback is correct, so you really know the state of the device and of the command did succeed.
