Distance Fibaro Motion Sensor

Question

Posted

I installed a motion sensor. But it only activates when I come in a distance of +- 1 meter. Is this normal?

Check out the full documentation which indicates the 'vision field'. The distance is largely depend on how it is installed and the orientation of it (as the 'vision/detection field' is not symmetric).

I have one installed along aisle and another installed in living room where both are able to detect motion further than 1m. That living room one is able to cover about 2.5m estimated.

Mine is pointing outside and the sun is shining in its direction. It's a hot day. So maybe this is the problem. It might be better in the evening, when the sun is turned the other way.

Yes. Never have the FGMS face the sun. I had prior experience on that. It affects more than just the motion detection.
