When will there be an Windows 10 app for fibaro ?

+1 (what we using currently is edge browser connected to HC2 dashboard, better than nothing)

Hello,

We are considering creating an app for Windows 10 (for smartphones). We analyze feedback and request for it. I am not able to tell when it will come out at this point, but if the request will grow it is more likely that we will release it.

It would be good to see one

Please add a Windows 10 Universal APP (UWP)! This would, properly built, run on W10 Mobile and on W10. While the Web Access to Fibaro on W10 runs well, it would be a big benefit to have a comparable app to iPhone, iPad, that is a real app and also runs from remote (same security options). Publishing of the (internal) Fibaro web application is not the best option. Especially as I have issues to publish the app on HTTPS outside, HTTP inside). In fact, to have HTTPS access internally and externally would be good (necessary?), as non-SSL connections, using username and passwords) aren't safe, common, etc. anymore!

Hi guys! Please look at Fibaro’s competitors (Insteon, Vera). They already have beautifully designed Windows Mobile apps! So don't waste time here.

I am not quite sure what you mean, there is

for phones and tablets.

It works and seems fairly simillar to one on iOS. I'd assume that it is native but i never bothered to check its innards.

Me either but Android app is surely a quick copy from iOS or they are using one of those cross platform development programs. It's been commented on many times.

(asuming it is developed cross platform)

Well that kinda makes sense when you are small team of overburdened developers just trying to maintain compatibility between your applications, gateway and server. I have seen some (before my time) ads for Fibaro and it looks like they were originaly not supporting Android at all.

Honestly Android app seems to work enough for my needs but i can understand if others are expecting more and in depth developing. I am under assumption that Fibaro software team is being pulled in dozen of directions not quite being able to cope with what marketing team comes up with. I have no insight into how manny software developers there are in Fibaro but i am convinced that it is just one team as oposed to having each app/unit with dedicated person or preferably team.

Hi,

I can understand your frustrating about Android application, but can you understand ours, if we have to control our houses via the web? I hope, FIBARO is professional team and not "one" developer, who take care only for one application. I hope, company like FIBARO can professionally support more applications.

Now I'm frustrating about support generally, this forum moderates nobody (a explanation of this is, that one person is not at work...), on support about not usable Fibaro motion sensor I'm waiting 2 months. What is your experience?

Personally trying to get support from Fibaro on ocasion can result in me having to sit throu what i can only discribe as lullyby going on and on and on (aprox 12 minutes after call starts it can just end without ever reaching a human being on the other side).

So yes support can on ocasion be very unsatisfying, downright infuriating - yet again i assume it is because of lack of manpower on their end.

I do understand that people would prefer tailored app for each device, but that just might not be possible without manpower. Just think about what they have to support (its their own fault for having this ammount of devicess sure but i would assume it is more of a marketing demmands rather than discussion between marketing and developement teams).

List of software that have to be supported:

Home Center 2 (OS, compatibility),

Home Center Lite (OS, compatibility - while i assume it is same OS there must be some diffrence between them),

Android Phone,

Android Tablet,

iOS phone,

iOS Tablet,

HomeKit Phone,

(possibly homekit  tablet? i dont know)

Now think about frequency of those updates for HC2 and HCL. That is quite the pace, and if software team is small (given how small it felt their forums/support teams were and are it woudl not surprise me) that could be quite complicated developement.

I am  not saying that they need to cut that ammount of stuff they are developing but they need either more competent or more people doing the developement. I work under assumption that they are fairly competent developers just doing the software at manic pace because i want to give them benefit of doubt (i allso do not like most marketing companies so i use that oportunity to take a jab at Fibaro's XD)
