Question

Posted

Hi,

I tried geolocation service a few times but never got it to work. I would say it triggered in 50% of my cases. Anyone really use this in practice?

Meaning...

- Reliable GPS feature to be able to trigger arrival / departure from home.

- No intensive battery drain.

If yes, how?

I created a LUA script to log the trigger of arrival and departure and the saw that it very regularly failed to trigger despite 5 min polling. At the same time I used "locative" app iOS and that was 100% accurate.

Hey, i run Domoticz on a synology nas which handles geolocation, domoticz integrates nicely with fibaro and has its own app which uses google locations, so battery drain is minimal, has worked flawlessly for about 6 months. Had to pay for the app on my wifes iphone, but android is free. So simple too, flicks a switch in domoticz to on or off which updates a global variable in fibaro.

if you want more info let me know.

Thanks! So fibaro app is still not working?

I uses a Domoticz server too as a spare. What service do you have installed and what app do you use for the GPS feature?

Hi, I'd like to know more. I initially had domoticz on my synology nas, then moved over to fibaro and woould like to get some kind of working geofencing. I still have domoticz on the nas.

How do I integrate domoticz with fibaro?
