I have suddenly got a low battery and boy do I know about it. Every 30 minutes 'ping' another email.

This version sends email every 30 mins, but this is too much! Can't see any option to change frequency of emails.

Maybe a feature request for next update? Lesser frequency or option to vary would be good...

I think it has been like this for a few releases. I was testing some devices out which keep causing false low batt within short timeframe and got blasted with emails (a lot for just a night of sleep, shocked when wake up).

FYI, this is why I moved the battery status to a new approach. I got a Telegram message twice a week, reporting devices below 30%.

Works like a charm and it will preventing me to awake every 30 min.

Sure!

For setting up Telegram:

For sending messages by Telegram (code by boerremk, same topic):

For reporting Battery levels (same topic):

For reporting not by Telegram but by email:

EDIT: FYI, you can make several Telegram bot-accounts to your need. For example one to send logs to, without alerts (no sounds or popups), one for critical message (with sound you prefer and popups). You can change this presets in your Telegram Messenger.

I don't use Fibaro's push and email anymore, exept the notification pictures from my IP-cams. I'm working to get this done by Telegram. (not finished yet)

So seems it's supposed to alert every 30 mins then! Bizarre! Maybe Fibaro could make it just once a day or every 6 hours?

It always have been this way, as far as I remember from v3! Asked by users often, but we know how Fibaro act on these things...

Extras resources wasted... 30mins is silly. Daily is sufficient

I think it is much easier to send an email with battery levels below desired level.

In addition you can use the new function fibaro:getDevicesId() to identify all devices operate on battery and to query the battery levels.

The code should be very simple, just few lines.

Nice, but now Fibaro released  fibaro:getDevicesId(), so the code could be very simple

Please login or register to see this code.

This is the entire code that you need.

In any case thanks for sharing your code...

Cool...A very simple scene and script to replace build-in low batt alert.

I came here looking for where to adjust the frequency and disappointed that it's not configurable. It's nice that we can plumb together another solution, but it's Fibaro's responsibility to choose sensible defaults!

A daily email would be sufficient, every 30 minutes is ridiculous! I'm spending all day cleaning up email notifications until I can get out to the shop to buy new batteries!!

@ryanm: You are right and I hope, Fibaro will improve this module.

Right now, it's simple triggered in the firmware. With each status report the battery level is reportet and triggers the email...again and again.

But I guess, there are some more things with higher priority ;-)

The same problem (now with version 4.130, nothing change), i have over 30 mails from HC2, in one day, because my door sensor have low battery.

    Very annoying.
