Samsung plugin not working?

alexndr

Question

I'm trying to get the Samsung plugin going for my Samsung UE40H6400 TV but it seems that the plugin can not auto discover the TV. I've tried to manually assign the TV's IP as well but it will still not work. I'm sure the TV and the HC2 (running 4.090) is on the same network.

Ideas? Read somewhere that only older Samsung TVs are supported?

Samsung UE40K5502AK  on LAN (hardwired) and ofcourse in the same network

Same here. If I start a search it finds my Samsung S4 phone  and nothing else.

Tried to enter the ip manually = no result. And yes the Samsung Smart View app controls it perfectly

Probably the plugin needs to be redesigned or updated.

You at least had a chance to try plugin for Samsung TV. I on other hand don't even have plugin for Philips TV to play with. In my opinion it is not attractive at all to relay on Fibaro good will to update this multimedia plugins. So what I did is this (click on link bellow):

40UK6000 wired and HC 4.100 not working either. Search button finds my S2 tablet instead. Direct IP not working.

Smartview app from the tablet works fine.

I have a different situation.. HC2 is able to find the IP of my samsung TV, and it describes it as a Samsung TV. But none of the VD controls do anything on my TV :(

any updates here? I just tried a new Samsung 50Q60TA, cannot find the IP of the TV (which otherwise works from smartthings app, network ping...).

it's all about Samsung changing all its api. It maintains two versions, but so far the only option is to use it through third parties. ... I tried something and broke a stick over it ...
Because today's TVs turn off the eth interface, you need to turn them on in a different way. Therefore, it is probably best to take the IR route.
