Sonos plugin problems

Question

Posted

I've tried to include my Sonos speakers using the Sonos plugin but it seems that I can only add some of them. The speakers I can not add is part of a Sonos 5.1 setup (playbar, sub, two play1 for rear). Maybe such a setup is not supported by the plugin? Tried to find any documentation for the plugin to see what it covers but haven't been able to.

Ideas?

/Alex

I having issues with my sonos plugin too,

it cant find on my network the speaker  - I put in the ip address obtained from the  sonos android app in "about settings"

I have a sonos speaker 1

works on my network with the apps  but ip address search isn't finding it.  Does it need the Ethernet  connected in to find?

Or am I failing to do something.

running 4.090

I have the same issue. 4.080, HCL. And i would like to add a Play 1. No result when searching for the speaker. How can this be fixed ? Fibaro, and idea or any other user ?

actually just fixed it. Dont search for it. Just add the IP, save it, and it works fine. Searching is not working.

Doh!

that's funny -  did same and works , was thinking was my router not letting devices communicate. - think they need to work on some help mouse over tips to explain the process, would have saved me half a day trying to work out why

Added the IP for my Playbar but still not able to connect.

    Seems to work now. Strange.

Have the same problem with a Play 5 and HC2 4.100. It indeed works if  you add the IP and save it but what about adding more Sonos devices. It seems like you can only add one IP or do you need to install multiple plugin's?

Sonos have added some new MAC ranges, and Fibaro's plugin have only old range. When you add the IP manually, it should work. This (and wish to have more functions) is why we wrote our own plugin (which i hope will soon be available for all)

Will your plugin be able to group/ungroup zones? Thank you.

ungroup is implemented, i stopped work on group (and any other things) because Sonos told me "wait we will have new API soon" (however this "soon" will be in 6-12 months or so).
